Does it have any signs of being a Sandman?

Any GTS gear? Full Roof Lining? Blackouts? Console Brackets? Decal remains?

There is nothing in your plate info that makes it a Sandman and the colour "Chamois" is not helping either.
So unless you have photographic proof of Sandman pointers it most likely isn't.

Don't think console mounts will help in a HX with 2 seater. Only HJ. Same with roof lining as you could option the comfort pack??

It has gts dash, full roof lining, buckets, it checks all the boxes of a sandman, door switches, floor console, but it's been painted so no evidence of decals.. What else should I look for?

You need to contact Holden Historical services. They will confirm it for you.
A lot of the things you list are in Sandmans but are not specific to them. plus most stuff like dash is easily changed. Console mounts are meaningless in HX because all 4 speeds had the console with bucket seats.

That last bit isn't correct wb, I had a HX 4 speed without console mounts.

To me, it looks very likely, the problem you have is, if you spend a bunch of coin into the restoration when time comes to sell you'll always have buyers doubting the authenticity just as WB and Innuendo are doing above.

Totally agree with contacting historical services, it's a shame HK isn't here anymore to clear things up.

There you go. It was a two seater? I thought no console went out with HJ. My mistake.

The car had already been restored, it's red with a 304, so not really going for complete accurate Resto, but it's all there as it came and nothing's been modified, stock body and chassis... Everyone that sees it, automatically sparks an argument over the sandman issue, "is it or not?" I just thought I'd finally get some help identifying what it actually is...

    Thanks guys...
Also how do I get onto the historical services??
