spoke to a couple blokes with some elec knowledge and they are thinking it is a power problem ie a breakage somewhere rather than an earthing issue and obviously not a short as this would blow fuses.

i had noticed the indicators tick very slowly if at all without engine running and once engine is going they tick much faster. something is draining... my suspicions are the crummy starter or the connection of power supply to fuses

    anyways - still welcoming ideas!

mate i feel for you. I just recently rewired a EH for my dad. Spent about 4 days under the dash, ended up putting a mattress and pillow in there. This is one job i am happy to pay someone to do.

The way you describe the blinkers, it sounds like you are not getting a regulated power supply from the battery? Electrics do funny things if they don't get 12 volts. Is the alternator charging?

    Not working... still

    Washer
Horn - can hear relay clicking when horn depressed
    Reverse lights
Heater fan switch- fan itself works
temp gauge - engine bay wire not receiving 12V. it jumps up and down all over the place. HJ i have is constant 12V
oil sender - not getting 12V at engine similar to temp & dummy light does not show on dash with key to accessories.
handbrake warning on dash- i sprayed contact cleaner on the switch itself

could this issue at all be due to open circuits on the WB 6cyl harness I'm using? in the engine bay there is one that looks like emissions and another near vacc thing at front of rocker and one to the carby (if it were mounted to 6cyl)??

I cannot see any other harness earthing points that I could be missing. I've been right over the Old fellas WB and its unmodified original.
Sorry about the delay, haven't been able to access computer for a few days.

Washers - From memory have a + to the motor and earths out through the washer button.

Horn - If the relay is clicking you are getting an ignition supply to the relay and the horn button is earthing the relay, so it should be getting a + to the horn and it earths out through the horn body & bolt

Heater Fan = Switch has a + to the switch and 2 (or 3) wires come out of the switch. They go to the fan resistor. Then goes through the fan resistor and comes out the resistor and goes to the fan. (Full speed is usually switched via a relay)

Temp Gauge - MAY have gauge issue. If you put the wire to earth, what does the gauge do.

Oil Sender - Does it only have the idiot light? If so earth the wire with IGNITION on and see if light works. If gauge, do same as temp gauge and let me know what happens.

Handbrake - Ignition through the globe then earths out at Handbrake switch. MAKE SURE IT'S NOT THE ONE NEAR THE MASTER CYLINDER CAUSING IT TO STAY ON.
    BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman

[QUOTE=agr071;99651]Sorry about the delay, haven't been able to access computer for a few days. no probs mate your help is much appreicated

Washers - From memory have a + to the motor and earths out through the washer button. - I WILL BUY NEW PUMP & TRY

Horn - If the relay is clicking you are getting an ignition supply to the relay and the horn button is earthing the relay, so it should be getting a + to the horn and it earths out through the horn body & bolt. HORN DID WORK - THEN JUST STOPPED WHEN I WAS TRYING TO GET REVERSE LIGHTS AND OTHER THINGS WORKING.

Heater Fan = Switch has a + to the switch and 2 (or 3) wires come out of the switch. They go to the fan resistor. Then goes through the fan resistor and comes out the resistor and goes to the fan. (Full speed is usually switched via a relay) - FAN ITSELF WORKS - THERE IS NO POWER TO SWITCH. WHERE IS THE RESISTOR LOCATED ON WB? NOTHING I CAN SEE ANYWHERE.

Temp Gauge - MAY have gauge issue. If you put the wire to earth, what does the gauge do.

Oil Sender - Does it only have the idiot light? If so earth the wire with IGNITION on and see if light works. If gauge, do same as temp gauge and let me know what happens. - YES, IDIOT LIGHT

HANDBRAKE DUMMY LIGHT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL>

I noticed that with brake pedal depressed and engine running there was only 10-11 V going to brake lights at rear of a-pillar harness connecting point. All fuses are getting 12.5-14V with engine running (exceptions are the two on the bottom left of the fuse board).

I have not tested output V on alt when running. I would be lying if i said I knew how to test if the thing was charging. When I rev the engine the V at fuse bank goes from 12 odd to 14. I assume this means it's charging.

tomorrow I will swap alternator and starter- After this the only thing left to check is coil and distributor. These are used gumtree items. maybe they are rooted.
