Before my HZ gets cut up into a ute, is this a Sandman?

I'm pretty shaw its a Sandman Boxhead so put down the grinder and back away slowly. 18V on the trim is your answer. Go find Byron to solve the mystery.

18V is HZ does not mean 100% sandman. This rule is ONLY in HX.

I bought this Van when it was finished. It is 1950 gvm. It came with all the original paperwork from the dealer. It is a Sandman. So with 18v I would bet my left one that it is.

18V in HZ. doesn't mean anything as it was available on all Holden base models in HZ. 18V in HX does mean sandman as it was only available to the sandman package in Holden base models and Kingwoods. Non sandman Holden base models had 19V is it was black interior.

Exactly, as I was aware it was for HX and HZ models, we have identified numerous HZ Sandman because of this, it was in "How to Identity a Sandman", right back at the beginning of this forum in 2010. Tyre Placard numbers, 18V and XX7 tags were the verifying clinches.

Agree. I also have read on this forum many times, 18V is a certainty as a Sandman for HX and HZ

As others have said 1950 is correct for a sandman of early HZ vintage. 6JJ rims are another good indicator. If the body has all sandman indentifiers too then I'd say you've got one, or at least no one could disprove it!

Sandman or not you'd be killing your resale cutting it into a ute, it won't matter how good a job you do, the ute boys won't want a ute stamped panelvan down the track

Ha ha, thought it would get a response from my post. My mate wants to cut it up not me. It has a full length rear bar and GTS guards but everything else looks to be right. Apart from the 350 under bonnet and disc brake 9" under rear. Unfortunately is defected, Will post more pics tonight. You would all cry if you heard how little i paid for it 6mths ago.Thanks for the info everyone
