18V is HZ does not mean 100% sandman. This rule is ONLY in HX.

18V in HZ. doesn't mean anything as it was available on all Holden base models in HZ. 18V in HX does mean sandman as it was only available to the sandman package in Holden base models and Kingwoods. Non sandman Holden base models had 19V is it was black interior.

When was this HX only rule discovered? I don't ever remember hearing it before now.

Exactly, as I was aware it was for HX and HZ models, we have identified numerous HZ Sandman because of this, it was in "How to Identity a Sandman", right back at the beginning of this forum in 2010. Tyre Placard numbers, 18V and XX7 tags were the verifying clinches.

Agree. I also have read on this forum many times, 18V is a certainty as a Sandman for HX and HZ

Except HX export to NZ. They were able to have 18V for some reason on base model there. Or so I remember HK saying way back when.
I am not certain about HZ though. I think Jason is correct that it's not valid in HZ.

Look up Hz trim code 6/6/2012 for hk's full description

Just used the phone a friend option.

WBute that's where I got confused.

HZ and 18V was available in NZ as a non sandman. But 18V was only available to base models that where sandmans.

Sorry I will crawl back under my rock now ;)
