Only after I got it home and did some research did I realise how rare an XX7 van was. The van was pretty tired and blowing loads of smoke. The guy laughed at me when I said I was going to drive it back to Brisbane. Luckily it had a working aftermarket oil pressure gauge and whenever the oil pressure got a bit low I would stop and top it up. By the time I got to Brisbane the back was full of empty cheap 5L oil bottles. On that trip it used 35L of oil. Pulled the engine out and it had broken rings in 3 cylinders.
You've gotta love surprises like that, not that you had 3 broken rings in the engine that's no fun but the fact that you bought a sandman ,my stories very simular except mine sat in my shed for 4 years before i knew what i had bought.
