    Have you actually looked at a wiring diagram for your car? The different models/trim levels have the same basic wiring loom and some plugs don't get used in some cars depending on trim levels and accessories fitted. Have you checked the wires that go to the sender on the tank?

    No I don't have a wiring diagram and am yet to get a chance to check the wiring to the sender. Hopefully this weekend I'll get a chance.

    This is a pretty handy wiring diagram because you can isolate the different circuits.

    Just click on the S for the whole wiring, then the colours for the circuits.
