I've been tempted a few times to buy a 1 owner HZ Sandman locally, but the thing that keeps turning me off is it has one of those racks, and I know the work required to remove it and then have to paint over virgin paint!

Cheers guys. You all have officially steered me away from putting a roof rack like this on my Sandman. I wasn't aware they attached directly to the roof. I was under the impression they attached onto the roof gutters. I really appreciate your feedback.![]()
the ones that attached to the roof gutters were the normal round bar type but they had tube extensions to make them clear the roof..thats the best ones to use to put your boards on...![]()

Hi again all, I am new here, great site. I was lucky enough to buy this van off Troy recently, currently waiting full restoration. I am totally broke after finishing my other HJ Sandman so it will be a long term project.
