yeah it is a genuien sandman thats is why i would like to keep it the way it is. as it is at the moment it would cost me an arm and a leg to get it fixed it still runs and most of the shell is good but there are some spots that are very bad one spot is above the front windsreen i could put my fingers all the way through the pannel front floors need to be done and i gess i will find more when i start pulling it apart
well i'm looking for a hx shell
It might seem like more work now, but in the long run, you will be better off fixing the rust and keeping the original shell cos as you say its not totally rooted. Itll always be worth more with everything intact. Consider the stuffing round and expense in changing the shell and the devaluing of the sandy compared to spending the cash to get the rust fixed.... My 2 cents anyway...
Keep your original shell and learn how to fix it. instead of buying another shell use the money to do a training course on welding or panel beating. life time skills.
HX L31 Sandman - Papaya
LX SLR5000 - Aquarius
Sleekline Ski Boat - Silver/White
i know what you are all saying and thats what i keep telling every one i know but they all keep saying go for another shell but a HX is not easy to come across thses days
every know and then i have seen them come up for sale but i have never thought about it and now knowing it is a genuine sandman i realy realy want to do it
i gess it all just a waiting game now
Changing a shell sounds easy, but from experience it can be a absolute ball breaker if your trying to do it yourself at home.....
Have done both & many hours stressing, sweating & praying (& i aint religious)
If you go down that road ask someone, maybe on here for a few pointers.
