Sandman or not (I suspect not... but we'll see), it's another van getting treated properly again after surviving the dark days and that's good for everyone.
Welcome coxxy... we'll enjoy seeing your progress and help if we can.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

I wonder if it is possible that the rear headlining teeth got folded back or were just removed when that light was fitted above the rear door. It seems to me that if somebody decided they wanted a light above the back door for practicality, the easiest way to do it would be to take out the headlining over the van section and install an aftermarket lamp just like the on that is fitted. (You gain more headroom for cargo too, simple choice if it was a work van at some point). For neatness you'd probably rip the teeth off, or maybe fold them back.

I could well be wrong, but haven't heard of a factory option for a partial headlining? Is that correct? If so, then the teeth must have been there once anyway.

Regarding the seating capacity, its definitely a 2 (I have a screen magnifier on my laptop which shows it clearly.)

Perhaps you could describe the headlining as it was when you got it a bit more Coxxy, ie; where on the car was it, was it torn off, or neatly stitched etc.

This will be a nice van when done, but as others have said, doesn't look to be a sandman. Standard headlining finished behind the cabin area, ie just behind the roof light, not all the way to the back.

Yeah as Sandaro said it finished just behind the cabin. But it was pretty torn up so i took it out almost straight away. From memory it was put over little tabs and had a metal wire that went around to keep it in place that the headlining was wrapped around, if that makes any sense at all. And yeah sandman or not its still a cool car and one i cant wait to have back on the road.

Its not just the teeth Dave. Down each side there is a strip of metal attached where the roof meets the side. It is there for the hood bows to fit in and the pinch weld to attach, so even if the teeth were gone this would still be there.
    If that makes sense

I think Wombat is on the money here, with everything ive found on this site its looking less and less likely, oh well, but i definitely think that the interior has been swapped out for another car, can someone show me what a 19V trim is supposed to look like?

    Hi Coxxy.

19V is black, check out various trim websites and they'll have samples. Winner Products should have something online.

As for Sandman authenticity, looking at the photos you supplied the body isn't a Sandman. However if you have minimal work to do on it it would make a fantastic van. Please keep posting pics on how you go with the resto.
