Found this video of Holden at the Motor Show in 1973 it shows a HQ panelvan kitted out with a mural and all could this be there Mambo Sandman equivalent. Wouldn't we like to know where some of the custom concept cars like the monaro sedan shown in these old clips are today.

That van (superchicken) is Holden's pre-Sandman concept van. I was a huge hit and confirmed their idea that the sandman would sell.
I think Stickthis does the decals...

Do you know what running gear the Monaro sedan had? Be great if it was a big block. Anybody know if theres any replicas of that been done. Id love to see one

I thought there was a yellow & black Hq sedan as a factory demo called old man emu 400 small block, as hk has said Hj was meant to get a 400 chev but they stuck with 308 as the big engine.Originally Posted by bullys21

Super chicken was Pre- Sandman. Holden were looking into doing a sports van and ute and this was the first idea they came up with. The positive reaction at motor shows from the public confirmed their research and they went ahead and built the Sandman.The bonnet scoop on that monaro/GTS is awesome!
