I hear what your saying WB but, in my opinion, on the contrary. I think if someone has any question about Sandmans this site will get the truth out. Even it it takes a while. That's why, I think, people come on here to get to the truth, whether it's pretty or not. Take this thread, as long as nobody oversteps the mark, it has seperated fact from fiction. That's what people want......don't they. Just my thoughts. Cheers

I started this because I was amazed at the price & it made me feel better about what I'd just paid for my restorers dream??! I purposely left off the "is this April fool on?"bit as I didn't want it to seem like a personal attack on the owner as I don't know him & was never my intention to upset anyone.
There's some great info here & I've never joined a forum or posted before, but wanted to contribute, the bit of a blow up about taillight surrounds was bad enough to make me think twice about posting the Cowra auction link. Anyway mods can burn? or close this thread if needed & I'm about to go "camping" for a few months so I won't be posting, I may lurk on a supply run.

Sorry. The only positive in this thread was a small amount of discussion about HJ twilight surrounds. Right from the start old mate was called a loser and accused of being high. Total rubbish.
It's all very well talking about someone's adds, but to personally insult someone is just wrong ( I read his reply and it was out of line as far as language went but I don't blame him).
As far as I know no one has the authority to carve up any adds about Sandmans publicly do they?
If my kids carried on like this I would tell them to treat people with respect.
I should add that no offence to the poster of the thread is intended either. It seemed to derail pretty quickly though with some of the replies.

i think everyone is entitled to an opinion. the fact there is a permanent spot on the site to post links etc of sandmans for sale dictates that value will always be a good talking point and a topic that everyone has an opinion on. I say good on the members who call 'bullsh*t' on blokes who are just out to rip the sh&t out of some unsuspecting emotional blokes pocket.
As other members have already mentioned, it's as much about educating. Loads of blokes have come on here to learn what to pay and then made an educated purchase decision. From this sellers point of view it doesn't take too long to work out what a sandman shell or part there of or otherwise is worth with the power of the internet these days. The blokes that have called him out as a 'loser' and suggested he's 'high' own Sandmans so there is no merit in talking down the value thereby potentially devaluing their own vehicles. They are calling him out on his transparent palava sales pitch and ridiculous asking price

Just making an observation......... If someone put up a Sandman (for argument sake as this is a recommended Sandman site) for sale on public media for a very modest price, we would all be commenting on it & saying how cheap it was, So therefore when the opposite occurs I see it as reasonable to make comments on the price. In my opinion, we would be doing the public a disservice if we didn't comment on Sandmans that were advertised for sale

As far as I know/knew when I brought the van last week for $7000 it was genuine, after ready all the "positive criticisms" I now realise I may have been wrong with my asking price as it appears I've wasted my money on a dud?? Any help and ideas on how I should go about the resale so not to rip anyone off but also to not loose out to much on my out lay would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Ash

Hey I am sorry that some bastard ripped you off, have had it done to me as have a heap of people on the site. It suxs and no amount of words can fix that feeling.

As for a dud, not at all. A windowless shell is a great thing. Many people are now looking for them. I know at least 3 people in QLD that would love a good clean shell.
If you need it sold this is the best place to let it be known. Most everyone on here have been more than helpful to me as a newbie, and i can bet that once the word gets out there you will be able to sell it for a good price.

Yeah that story has been on here before. As far as I can see it should be buyer beware. Do your research before buying.
However it's not the same as picking random adds out and publicly shaming the seller. That's more like victimisation.

I am prepared to stand up and call it out for what it is and not go with the flow. I am sure that this thread has crossed the forum rules. It needs to be closed.
