Not sure why you think that. Chrome is 100% correct as it was part of the option list. That would be like saying a 308 is wrong or side panel glass is wrong.

Not sure if I'm right, but it is my understanding that chrome taillight surrounds were part of the Kingswood package and not available as an individual item.

Splitting hairs! Sandman stripes were fitted (or not) by the dealer, genuine mudflaps, GM radio etc.
They were an option like everything else, matters not who installed them before new car delivery. It was all GMH.
It's still done the same way today. Dealers making extra sales from the genuine parts & accessory list.

With all due respect to you Inners, it was you who started splitting hairs over my attempt at a humorous post. Unless this seller can produce a sales invoice like the one you posted, its most probable that there were substituted, as many were, during the last 40 years.
