What Absinth said. Normally I think it's a bit disrespectful to be critical of prices just by looking at a photo online, but in this case I have no sympathy for the seller at all if he's laid out $7k on this believing it to be genuine and somehow worth $50k, or even $15k.

The whole "quick flip" thing doesn't sit right with me. I've seen people blatantly lie to original old owners to screw the price right down so they can flip it for twice the money without doing a thing to it. Those people aren't car enthusiasts, just scumbags, and are the direct reason hobbies like this get put out of reach of the average joe.

Dont get me wrong, I've made money on cars before. I never give a bullshit story to the seller though and the buyers usually ask me if its for sale and makes an offer.

I totally agree with the quick flip you mention Play...recently a chap bought a genuine sandman from a farmer, who lives west of here as he said he "genuinely wanted to restore it", and "all he ever wanted was a sandman", when he got us to verify it, (he was from Forbes) we told him it didn't have a matching chassis. I know what he paid for it (very little) and he sold it for $6K, now the next buyer is trying to sell of $7K they also phoned us and Rodney spoke to them regarding this issue, it was obviously in a prang in the 80's and didn't get a police stamp, there is no number at all on it. anyway point being I think that people who think they can make a quick buck usually can't.... The original guy should have restored it, and enjoyed it, as he was virtually given it by the farmer...anyway I can sleep at night knowing our vans are loved, and restored, and only re-homed when absolutely necessary.
HZ Jasmine Yellow Windowless Sandman, now being driven everywhere and is finished!
HZ Madeira Red Windowless sandman now Sold to Bigrob
HX Mandarin Red Sandman Ute finished, and club registered
1979 HZ malachite windowless van with 308 5spd, all chromed up and shiny finished and named "The Player"
