Well aren't Christmas holidays fun for just sitting around and pondering old cars and how to make another 1% improvement by fiddling about. Had two wins today with the Tonner.

First win was when i decided to rerun some of the vacuum lines and tried to work out if i should leave the distributor vacuum advance line connected to the Quadrajet or move it to the manifold. Googled around for a fair while and then decided to move it...BAM! Someone must have turned on the Barry White smooth switch because she just runs a whole lot smoother now, its like a new car!

What can top that simple win? Well how about adjusting the detent cable for the Turbo 350? I wasn't entirely happy with how the T350 was downshifting, so back on Google, i found some threads about how to set up the detent cable by pulling up a tab on the end of it, pressing the throttle fully down to the floor and then clicking the tab back down. Hey presto, it now downshifts like a race car when you floor it! Can't believe something as simple as this makes such a difference!

I love Google...
