dress rims

hi all hope everyones having a good weekend? on the goldy every weekends a great weekend! now this is something that might be trivial,but is getting very annoying.Does anyone have the problem of there dress rims creeping around the wheel trying the decapitate the valve?seems to be only the rear wheels having this problem.Any answers?

Have you got the right one on the right side and the left one on the left side? The rotational reduction circuits don't work properly if they're on the wrong sides.

I've had it happen on cars I've owned in the past but nothing I have now..... I guess it depends on how tight they are (or how fast you are spinning the rear wheels!)

that might b an idea ill swap them around. A 253 spinning wheels? would have to be in mud rob !!

Seriously though, what about a dab of silicone on the inside before you install them? I do see a lot of hubcaps and dress rims that have shifted around. The clips obviously hold them onto the wheel, you won't need much to just stop that slight rotational movement.

With the original type we used to use a bit of electrical tape (about an inch square) in a couple of spots around the rim that coincided with a couple of the teeth on the dress rim. Stopped them moving pretty well as the teeth would locate in the tape and that would be enough to stop them dragging around. As suggested above silastic would work just as well. I used to use metal valves in my wheels - probably overkill but just in case.
