Ok so we're all having a whine about idiots in our lives.

    1. Pilots.

PPL I see it this way!!

    Good things arent cheap!!

    Cheap things arent good!!

And retail would be a whole lot better without the customers!!

In my business we have TAXES!! All my boys know what they are!! Here are a couple!!

    Fu*&w$t Tax!! 10% Min

Champ Tax!! ( when a customer calls you CHAMP!!) 10 to 20% Min

Tellin me how easy the job is tax!! Do it yourself then Champ!!!

You get my drift Im Sure!!

And yes Ive done the forklift thing but with Glass!! When the customer tells me that the piece of glass he wants, and I have, isnt worth the 5 bucks Im askin for it, I happily throw it in the bin while he is watchin!!

    Now that feels great!!

    Stoopid Customers!!!

i'll say that im with you adam, i have only ever sold one car yet advertised 3 in my lifetime, each time a herd of morons comes along to waste my time.

i appreciate reading this thread though, im not one to trust people on ebay and unless i can touch the part i really dont feel happy about buying it. i spend far less time in a wreckers because i know the stuff they keep is going to be good, rocking up at someones place on the whim of a classified ad means i spend time sifting the good from the bad in whats been advertised.

i.e. rocking up with full intent to buy a pair of hx-z front doors in "immaculate" condition only to find that they are hq doors and had major and dodgy rust repairs to the inside, sure they looked good but were not worth what he was asking nor were they what he'd advertised, so not only did he waste my time but i wasted his with no sale. (im not accusing anyone on here of doing such a thing, but i do believe the buyer has a right to question what theyre potentially buying)

i agree that there are morons out there who have no idea and yes it frustrates me too.

i like wreckers and love wrecking yards, if it wasnt for my local boys here in adelaide my van would have become old and tired many years ago. if it wasnt for OHS rules i'd be out the back helping them remove the bits im after too. its good to ring and say hey i need this, can i get it, how much?

i also like forums like this, people can vent and chat to each other, and ask around for parts - its better dealing with mates than with unknown morons.

Its The Public .you owe them your life as they are buying from you..

I had service stations when there were 1 an 2 cent pieces( not that long ago ) people use to abuse the console girls when they asked for the 3c or 4 c that they had gone over the $5 or $10. they would swear and throw the money at them. But if they had tried the same trick at K-Mart or big W the check out chick would ask you what you were going to put back.

anyone who ownes a business will tell you that having to deal with the public is the problem..you need them as customers, but ...........

adam...im still doin it coz its what i know..i was hussling parts from when i first dragged a 9 inch diff out of the bush behind my honda dream at 13..
from that age i have been in the motor industry wether it was in holden spare parts or a panel shop doing prep work,i did a heap of different car dealer jobs and always hussled cars and parts..even when i went and drove government buses in sydney for 6 years i still did cars and parts..
natural progression ended me having my own wrecking yard coz as i got older i figured its a hobby lets make it a legal hobby where im the boss.
20 years later im trying to restore my cars as well as thousands of other peoples cars as well..
to cope with the levels of sanity needed to stay out of the asylum i sometimes need to be extremely straight forward to customers who want stuff yesterday and also want it cheaper..
educating the general public that it is 2010 and a lot of these parts are not made anymore is sometimes very hard..

I sense a lot of anger from u all - take a deep breath.....
As a customer I can say that i would rather walk into a shop and see what I am buying than buy off a photograph. I would rather walk into a shop and talk to the person selling me the item. There are only a few I would trust to buy over the phone from and do the right thing by me. And thank you to the ones that do. All the other idiots (customers and sellers) are glass-lickers... just like those that get into the taxi on a sunday morning... they even bring their own glass! LOL

So he wants all parts from a statesman as well as a tonner for $2100? Bit optimistic isn't he? If you're selling stuff that cheap I'd be tempted to do a truck trip across the nullabor.
