As already said. HX DY4 is correct. Yellow, orange, orange.

We are for the first time in 10 years printing this combo at the moment! So if anyone does want it get in early. Its an extremely rare hardly ever used colour combo! Once this lot is sold it will be very hard to justify doing another print run of them!

    Hello Stickthis,
Thanks for pointing out the stripes on Gaddy's van; yes they do look sweet. When I eventually find myself in a position of adding stripes I will be in touch for advice on identifying the correct ones.

The van came with the top loader approved by a QLD mod plate so I guess it will be staying. I have no experience with that type of gearbox so I guess it will be something I will have to adapt too.
    Are they any good?

They're apparently pretty strong. Other benefit of the conversion is that a 5 speed from an EB-EL falcon will slide straight in its place from what I hear. Same internals as the Commodore v8 5 speed but a quarter of the price.

I'm yet to do my conversion. Currently have a single rail 4 speed in the van but have the 5 speed there ready to go.

I'm doing the same conversion in my HQ, the Falcon T5 has a shorter input shaft than the Commodore V6 T5, the only one with a shorter input shaft is the Group 1 VN SS T5 box but they in the same league as Rocking Horse Poo. I have also sourced a Mustang T5 tail housing which moves the shifter forward by 50mm. All this is important so you don't have to carve into the reinforcing rib in the tunnel behind the original Aussie gear lever hole. Oh BTW the run of the mill Commodore V8 T5 has the longest input shaft of all. If you use a Commodore V8 box with its original shifter location the T5 shifter will come out between the seats, you will be unable to use the Holden console and you will have to hack into the strengthening rib in the floor, which will not be passed by an engineer. The other T5 box that moves the shifter forward is the Chev s10 box which will bring the shifter through the floor at or just forward of the front console mount, to get a tail housing for one of these will cost $500.00 USD plus shipping.

The toploader was one of the strongest factory production boxes made,
So much so the original design ran from 1965 through to the late 70's early 80's
They where run in everything from 289ci fords to 460ci big block galaxie's to trans-am racing mustangs.
There where also special alloy cased one made for racing and to my knowledge are one of the only boxes that you can throw into any gear at any speed..
The top loader will out last any modern box to this day even with extreme punishment...
    I personally have destroyed 2xm20's & a m21 with and open diff center and a 253
My top loader has seen the same motor that destroyed them and bigger with just as much punishment over 25yrs and still running strong to the point I have worn out a shifter and a selector fork
    Regards
