    HJ Sandman restoration project

Hey everyone im new to the forum, i found out last friday when i went to sell my hj ute that it was a sandman shell on a early melbourne chassis to my shock o, i contacted the previous owner an he confirmed the body was a sandman but unfortunately for me the tags went missing when his brother had it, it has front an rear factory console mounts and all panels underneath 2 colours its mandarin red, just wanted some feedback, is it worth restoring back to a sandman ute? or should i move it along to someone with sandmans who could use it?

You'll never get Sandman money for it without the tags so if you were to restore it would be as a replica basically. Someone might give you a bit extra for it as is if they need to reshell their Sandman ute, although usually the guys with a spare set of tags are the guys who try to get everything as cheap as possible.

In saying that, it's a good ute with good gear. Get what you can and buy a sedan or wagon to do up so you can take the family with you.
