    Tracing a wire ? Website

    Hi All,

Sorry I have seen this here before a link to another site (old holden ??), where you could trace a wire by model ?

Appreciate your help. Have courtesy lights that don't work ?

More specifically I have found the white wire that goes from one switch to the other. There is a further white wire which come off the switch at the driver foot well (don't know where this goes?) ground or +

Could the white wire coming out of my switch be a clue ?

Yeah from memory white wire does door switches. Wherever you find cut off white wires, there the ones. Should go from the back of the light switch either direct to the door switches or via the body connector in the firewall, can't remember.

Won't go to ground, remember a car is all ground, everything else is power. Hope that makes sense

The cut off wire could be a sign of a dickie headlight switch...???
It may have a short in it.
The white wire does go to ground/earth
In the connector in the drivers kick panel is an orange wire which supplies +12v to the globe
then from the globe is the white wire which then goes to the door switch ..
Any extra globes like foot well lights are put in parallel from there ..
The headlight switch white wire which you have pictured goes to the door switch and is grounded when turning the knob
bringing on the interior light/s with the door shut.
