Just need some educated advice on my panel van project. It's history started as a stripped out shell from the wreckers, now with a Premier front end and interior. I am at the point of deciding which way to go with the restoration, your advice to it's identity will help.

There are pages and pages on blackouts. This one has some original photos of them.

Your van might have been a B06? Try Holden Historical Services. They should be able to tell you what it was.

You could check for black door handles and the smaller spare wheel winch cup to suit GTS wheels but given its history, the plain colour, and the normal GVM, you'd have a hard time convincing potential buyers that it was a genuine Sandman.

Do it up how you want to, as long as you're doing it for your enjoyment. A nice van will still pull good money, and even if it was a Sandman it's hard to make money by restoring it.

Being 10/79 it would have had the alloy wheels not the steel GTS rims. They had a different winch cup again. Being pretty much at the cease of Sandman production and the wrong trim code? I would think its not a Sandman but you need to get in touch with HHS. They are the experts.
It's got good options though and if it's in good order you could make a great van out of it no doubt.
