Wow Hainzy, looks good. Where did you get the adaptor ring from? Also, is that a large square plate you have welded in as well? Whats the purpose for needing the wider plate?
Cheers
looks neat hainzy
which adapter or kit did you use to get speedo going with the T5?
BQZ
Cheers mate.
I got the adapter plate with all the connections from these guys

I think it was about $120 from memory. I bought the MRA from a wrecker. I dont have the car going yet so I have my fingers crossed that it works...
The large square plate was welded on because there was a ridge across the top of the tank which meant that the ring couldnt be cleanly welded on. See the ridge on the other side of the tank and youll see what I mean. It was easier to cut a section out and weld the ring to that.
Also the direction I have the hoses pointed is the way you need to do it. I originally did it on a bit of an angle (see the photo below), and I found that when the tank was bolted up into place, the hoses and connections got squashed into a support/bracing part under the floor. I had to take the whole tank out and redo it. Considering how many pieces of hose and metal were being juggled to get the tank into place, there was very few LOLs at that time and a large amount of swearing!!
How not to do it...

Im actually using the Supra 5 speed I already had so Im not using the T5. But I am using the same adaptor I had, just with a different connector. Theres a guy here in Ballarat who makes all this stuff. Costs around $120 too I think. He also does extension sections, and T or elbow pieces etc for tight fits into tunnels etc. He sends stuff all over Australia. Just a one man backyard operation but knows electronics and gears/speedos etc backwards.. He also rebuilt my Torana dash for my electronic ignition.

This is it when I bought it for my commodore conversion.

Well, I've purchased a fuel tank conversion kit and will hopefully end up with a 'hainzy special' at the end.
On another note, I'm on the cusp of deciding to permanently shelve my finished blue 308/T400 combo (built for the panel van project), as a parts bin for the 1 tonner and do up the efi combo for the panel van. If so, then it needs to be a 355 stroker and looking on line, the stroker kits are wide and varied.
Anyone got any experience on these kits and any brands to stay away from?
X2!
Any of the reputable ones are good - Harrop, COME, Scat etc.
Damo Did you end up finding a throttle cable, I just realised I never got back to you after a mate of mine passed away. I do have it accessible if you still need it.
Nice neat set up on the tank Hainzy!

Looking at the same setup now and a conversion cable is $80+ original at firewall end and correct commodore the other I think it's autocables on eBay also getting a cable x driver from Cae to go from vs auto to drive gts speedo and a weld in fuel pump ring also from them .
