Thread: Tailgate not locking?, is this correct

    Hey Innuendo,

    I tried that too but it also travels way past the point required for it to function correctly. My plan now is to get some longer screws and some washers to space it out correctly. Either my upper tailgate is unusually this or my lock is longer than normal. Either way I'm sure I can pack it out to line it up.

    I know I had exactly the same problem and it was the handle going too far into the mechanism.... The square locking pin then wouldn't line up with the slot and did what yours is doing.

    Do you have the handle in the right way? the key should be upside down when the handle is locked.

    You'll get it.... it's just a bit of mucking around. I know I had a few problems working out which way it went but after I got it right it was obvious.

    Ok, I think Ive tried every possible combination, packing out with washers etc (doing my head in)]


    Dean anyone have a photo of the mechanism in place I can copy ?

    I'd really appreciate it
