Interesting read. I imagine however, it shouldn't take too long for government to step in if enough affected motorists take the time to write to complain. Extra fees for driving current model utes in the country that invented the ute? Surely that's not the go.

It does beg the question, are HQ to WB vans utes and one tonners classified as LCVs? They too are full chassis vehicles. Just going by the justification for changing the classification of the Falcon, the H series commercials come under the same rules. Unfortunately the public was unable to stop the installation of toll roads when citylink was first devised and the Liberal Government of the day reneged on their responsibility to provide infrastructure to Victoria, preferring instead to sell the lucrative running of the freeways to Citylink. SLR_dave if you think that the Victorian government will step in to make citylink back down on this issue, you are naïve in the extreme, there is not one politician in the country who has a pair of balls and therefore capable of standing up and acting with any sort of integrity in these matters.

rego in Ireland for commercial vehicles is apparently 1/10 the price of passenger cars. In contrast, it supports business....

Effing toll roads are a joke in this country. I wouldn't mind if the money was going to contribute to the cost of the road or to the government for use on future roads, but most of them are privately run. Why are the profitable businesses always given away by these bloody governments?

We go to Melbourne quite often to catch up with mates/medical trips.

I wonder if our HSV Avalanche XUV could be classed as commercial. Bugger!
