    When its finished??? It is!

    Naaah just kidding.

This was purchased about 6 years ago and and put to the side as a job ,"Ill get around to it one day real soon".

Anyway since then it has been used as a mold/mould and we have produced a slightly lower more streemline looking scoop.

Basically where the white grind marks are it has been lowered that much and now fits the contour of the bonnet.

Ill get a pic up so Jaft can see as well, just another idea for him.

    Hi jaft,

The one that is cut down is what was made from a mould off my original scoop.

The scoop with the flanges is one that I purchased from a seller on evilbay.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, I will be doing some experimenting very shortly between the two. I will be putting a hole in the bonnet for a particular air filter I have acquired, hence I need the scoop. The evilbay L88 scoop is a fair bit lighter than the one trimmed down believe it or not as extra stiffening is in it along with other attaching mechanisms.

Rest assurred, no original equipment will be harmed in this experiment as a bonnet was acquired from Classic AusWreck.

If you use the flat based one, it'll bond to the bonnet better because of the flat surface.
Whereas the other one won't sit as flush.

    So jaft,

How did you go deciding on a cowl/scoop?

I personally think a cowl is better than a scoop.
The reason being that in the colder weather crusieing along at 80k you will
find the carby can freeze up and have the throttle stick open until the heat thore's it out again.
Cowls tend not to freeze the carby but suck enough cool air to make a difference

    Still undecided what to do.

    Just bought the manifold.
So will fit it up and see if the bonnet need to be cut first..
    then go from that.
