    Oddities, Customer Service & Losers

    Warning "On Rant"

Today I dealt with more than one deadsh!t.

Price match: Wanted to buy a Milwaukee Detail Polisher (Skin) and normally would buy from Sydney Tools. Spent multiple thousands there this year alone!
Their advertised price $159.00 + Freight, I thought I'll look around and see if that the going rate. Found them online from various sellers for the same price or a few dollars more and free freight.
Back to the Sydney Tools website and hit the price match button (not asking for a discount) just match the free delivery request. After closing today I get an email reply = Price match request rejected!
What's the freaken price match button for then? So I purchased elsewhere. Buggered if I know why I gave them the opportunity?

The people who dismiss and rejected the price match need a lesson in customer service.

New Car: Had a phone call from a Holden dealer today letting us know our new Calais has arrived and will be ready for collection Monday after tow bar and detail etc.
Ask for NO dealer stickers and NO dealer marked number plates. Was told it's company policy. I replied then I will not be collecting the car. Boss tells salesman it's no a problem and that he himself wouldn't to buy a new car with dealers names all over it. Salesman now knows it's NOT company policy! This comes on top of new Honda Civic we purchased a few weeks ago for the mother in law. We were told by that salesman it's the first time it's ever been requested? Why would we want to advertise the dealers? They're not paying us...

!diot Yanks: Ebay, trying to buy some items that are advertised on ebay on the weekend with "x" percentage discount. Decide I want to buy multiple items. Freight charge is $30.00 USD for one item and the other item I want (same thing/different colour) they want $104.00 USD delivery (What the?) so I email them stating I would like to buy two items and have no issue with the price but could I please have the items sent in one parcel and to please advise the total amount. 3 days later I get a reply stating simply add the items to my cart and the freight will be worked out automagicly. So I go back to the items to do as suggested and this time both items are marked "NO SHIPPING TO AUSTRALIA". So I look at other items they are selling and shipping is no issue to Australia. So I email them again state that I really want to buy these products can you please tell me how much including postage charges? Reply we would be happy to sell to you please make your purchase. So I email them again to which I get another "cut 'n' paste" reply that doesn't answer any questions. Email them again and ask them to send a Paypal request or to direct me to their website so I can purchase. Reply: Sorry I know it's frustrating but we cannot send a Paypal request or sell via our website. But please purchase whatever you like. WTF?

!diot Yank Number 2: www.tartoppers.com wanted to purchased 2x tar toppers for my batteries. Attempt to purchase online, add to cart etc. Get to checkout and country is pre-filled as Australia (browser sniffer at work) type in all my details and attempt to make payment via Paypal. Tells me I need to correct my delivery address. So I change from P.O.Box to street address but the same error returns. OK so I read the website and states any issue with checkout please email us. So I complete the online form and hit send to which I'm informed it was sent successfully. 2 days later no reply so I complete the online form again (successfully sent again) days later no reply. Bloody Hell, so I send an email tagged with message tag. I'm notified that my email has been read 1 hour and 8 minutes after being sent. Now 4 days later (NO REPLY) ....

I mean how friggen hard is it? You offer crap for sale, someone wants to buy it but NOOOOOOOOO just p!ss customers about. It's not like they don't have a Post Office in the USA.

P.O.Box: What is the bloody issue with ebay sellers refusing to send to a Post Office Box? I get it "if" the items are being sent via a courier. But when it's going via the post anyway? It takes 100 point i.d proof to get a P.O.Box and they are a thousand percent safer than having a monkey on a step-thru or a subcontractor attempt to deliver to a street address and leaving parcels on the veranda.

Is it just me or is service just sh!t lately?

DSC03737.JPGThe inconsistencies of some places drive me mad.... I've bought a lot of stuff from many places overseas and sometimes it's a piece of cake and other times it's near impossible. And often from the same dealer.

Morons working at some places are also a problem.... As some of you may know I own a bicycle shop and am constantly purchasing spare parts for servicing and repairs. One of the items I have to change a lot is brake cables, so I buy them in a box of 100 from one of my regular suppliers. I ordered a box a few weeks ago along with some spokes for a pair of wheels I'm rebuilding and was really surprised when the parcel turned up a few days later. In the box with the spokes was a single cable with a label wrapped around it stating that it was "Dispenser Box - Box of 100"!

Now what idiot could be that stupid to put a sticker around one cable that says it's a box of 100?

Then what other idiot grabbed that and packed it in my order without realising it?

Then what idiot checking the order would invoice me for 100 when there is obviously only one in the box?

I emailed them and it's sorted out now, but how many other orders were stuffed up by these idiots?
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

Yeah Rob your in my world mate!

I just sent another email stating:

You sell products. I buy products. Can we make it happen seeing as it is the concept of basic retailing?
    I await an answer.

I hear you guys. Bought a guitar from USA once. ... Mighty expensive and rare. Turns out the guitar was shipped to a musicians institute in France. Geographically not even close. I ended up receiving church chimes.. Wtf?? I knew something was wrong when a guitar in a full size hard case was about 50cms long. FedEx wanted to write it off.. Needless to say.. I ripped FedEx two new sphincters.... Made them get the guy that dropped it off (in France), pick it up, back to depot, and express courier it direct to me, no stops at other depots along their usual route. When you spend 5k+ AU, you want your item to be safe. What a total drama dealing with people in different time zones. I lost my shit so hard, I made them give me daily updates. Apparently the guitar collector told me I ruffled so many feathers at FedEx that it set a precedent and he's been looked after so much better since then. It's all funny now, but I was on a war path. Wouldn't take no for an answer at any stage of the debacle.. I guess the moral is don't take any crap when you know your right and someone else has stuffed up... No matter what country it's happening in.

My local rural shop is unreal. Can't help enough and know their products.
There are heaps of people who don't care. That's life. Get on with it.
