HJ and HQ. HX and HZ Sandmans are essentially a Kingswood as well but because of the side strips on a Kingswood, rather than try and NOT fit them on the production line they fitted full Kingswood trim and garnish the a Holden.

HZ sandmans had a smaller tank than non sandman utes and vans.
Have had a bloke tell me they are 5L smaller. My first question is why would they.! Lol
Can't imagine why they would be. My ute was super economical when I travelled out west though. Maybe because of that it was considered the extra 5L was not required.....ha,ha,ha.
"Proud To Be An Old Fart".
haha brilliant robbo. The stripes made them more streemline?
Yes, I think the stripe's must have had something to do with it...lol. The stories people come up with are astounding.

Mexican fuel tank. False bottom for drug trafficing.
when I bought the WB that I had me n me mate stopped at the Roadhouse for a coffee n fuel when these people came up to us (they were high as kites) and said that all WB's were sandmans, that the cheap CSA copies of the Centreline mags were factory fitted and so was the gas system. I still laugh about it!
Did hj sandmans as a 6 cylinder, come out with a gts dash in them the same as the 8s or did any have a standard dash?
