There were at least 2 x WB Sandman vans made but I've only ever seen their production records not the cars.

That is very interesting HK.... so they are out there somewhere .No utes ? How hard would they be to pick given so many had the gts dashes bucket seats consoles all the gear anyway.

They may never have been sold as Sandmans, probably used internally as they were probably like 1976-7 era.

Of course we have seen quite a few sets of the WB bumperettes with large rubber moulds on ebay over the years.

Those bumper-ettes were a WB option. They are listed in the parts book.

That is true, but they only became an option once the WB Sandman was canned as these had already been manufactured in preparation.

The records show 1 x WB 8WM70XU3 and 1 x WB 8WM70XX7. There are a number of Commodores listed to so this will most likely be very early WB and VC pre-production, possibly 1978 era. There may be utes as well but I don't have the whole lot of records, just a few.

Just read through the WB parts book. There are a couple of options for WB bumpers. Normal chrome ones. Chrome with the rubber strip. Plus some listed for Ambulances. However there are another set listed as painted type. I guess these were the Sandman ones as it had painted bumpers with rub strips.
I have seen one set of the chrome ones with rub strips sold on eBay but have you seen the painted type with rub strip Inuendo?
