I just noticed today that the rear floor of my van is galvanised. Is this another sandman thing or did all vans and utes have this?
Remember a Sandman was not anything special to GMH. It was really a niche product / marketing tool. It is just a normal ute or van with bolt (or stick) on's pulled from other models or bits deleted. GMH probably made less money per unit than they did with a standard one. They got no special treatment whatsoever except maybe for the metallic colours on some series, decals on HX/HZ and a few blackouts. The only unique-to-Sandman part that I can think of is the horn badge on a HQ (stripes aside).

that should have been carried through the whole series in my opinion...we have one on the HX ute, it is wrong and we have a correct one to put on, but might keep it there anyhow...:Chin:

My mate found one on an old HQ van recently. I'm going to get it as a keepsake because of its uniqueness.
