    Removing Decals

What does everyone use to remove decals/stripes, they are old and I can't seem to remove them without damaging the finish?

The correct item to remove stripes is a "Caramel Wheel".
Most panel beating supply shops will stock them.
Done with care you can remove stripes without damaging the paint.

Depending on how long they have been on there, a heat gun may make them payable enough to peel off. Be careful not to blister the paint.

I have bad luck with a heat gun. , good idea, I'll look for one of those wheels. Do they go in a drill motor?

Yeah either a drill or a die grinder.
Any way you go about it it's tedious and slow work if you are protecting paint.

Gotcha, one guy at a swap told me to put rubber on an air file, I can't see that working.

I used my Mrs old hair dryer to get the stickers off the XR I restored. I haven't tried on a set of car stickers but it got them off bike plastics with no damage. Once you soften the old stickers with heat the glue lets go too. Getting the glue off can be fun.

Wurths sell the correct tool. Not cheap. Caramel wheel works too but you have to be careful with the RPM or will burn the paint

    Heat gun and be careful!

    Caramel wheel works great!

Eucalyptus Oil is great for removing sticky crap!

Grease and Wax is ok for removing sticky crap. But be carful. If not done right eg out in the sun. It can damage paint
