You can leave the Bajo diff in, if you drive it correctly.
I had a 6 cyl banjo (2.78 ratio) behind a worked 308 with turbo 700. Ran 265/50 tyres and never had a drama.
The Saginaw shit itself though before the t700 went in.
BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman

build it for whatever you would prefer to drive. i know a bloke who had a matching numbers van but it was a 253 manual and he wanted chev and auto so that's what he did. life's probably too short to worry about preserving it for the next guy in line who buys it from you
