I have a running joke that Sandie is always trying to hide from me when I return from a bush walk, I joke that if I ever go missing they'll never even find where I parked.

    Yes she’s looking good.
Sometimes I can post pictures and other times not?
This one took about 4 times to post.
But still loving your pictures and van.
I can see me replacing ours with one like yours in the near future.

    Cheers Kiwivan

One thing the older ones have over mine is the space in the back, I am considering going fulltime vanlife, but couldn't do it in mine. Kinda acrobatic to get changed, have a sponge bath etc.

With yours you have all the creature comforts.
Aircon, cruise , very easy and relaxing to drive.
    Would love an auto.
Ours still travels well, have never let me down and is still very tidy.
Still I am in my 50s and have a few more years until I change.

Really? VY is larger than HQ-WB
Have you ever measured it? Having the rear wall and glass removed or modified helps.

Definitely enjoy the auto and cruise, handling in general is great, very comfy to drive for 10hrs a day.
Not sure how much longer the Amcat canopies will be available, they have recently been taken over by a couple of enthusiasts but I get the impression that the business was failing.

I have not measured, more a feeling thing, I haven't been in the back of an original for a long time so I might be dreaming.
I was under the impression that I could not remove the back glass in the Monocoque Chassis, would definitely be interested if its possible. Guessing it would involve quite a bit of work to strengthen the chassis. Would also have to sort the seal on the back first or end up with dust everywhere.

It would require an engineers report (as mine did) and you do need to over engineer it somewhat. The VU-VZ are basically a station wagon just like the FJ-HG panelvans. I'm not so sure about the VE-VF. I believe the Ute liner hides a lot of holes in the VE-VF and without the liner, crap would just full on the road?

I have seen a VE done on the Vanning show scene. So it can be done.
Dust seal in another thing you would need to correct.
Maybe a tail tent would be best suited to you?

Here is a picture of mine done back in 2014/5
I lifted the original Ute turret 4 inches through the centre area as well. Then fitted a Caprice sunglass console and interior light

Almost imported a van from Aussie that had been certified to have the window out.
In the end the cost was horrendous to get it here and complied.
But certainly you should think of a tail tent.
    We have one for ours
Have a look on eBay for
    Rightline SUV tail tent.
Awesome saves the aerobic clothes change.
    Fits all vans etc

    That looks great!

You're right, there is not much to the bed under the liner, I had mine removed, thinking to seal it with a spray on liner.

I would not sell mine, but rather give up my unit/apartment in favour of a 4wd Iveco van for longer trips, something with a shower and small kitchen that I can just pull over and sleep in safely.
I live at work 2 weeks out of 3, so really only need a place 10 nights a month on average.
Giving up the unit would give me the finances to have both cars and maybe a storage shed somewhere, as well as saving for a bush block.
