Still chipping away at it. Stripped all the front panels epoxy primed and painted the inner guards and radiator support. Fitted a brand new copper/brass radiator and connected the cooling system. Now that I can run the engine for extended periods I gave it a decent tune. The engine is going great but wasn't overly happy with the quad gauges, the needles were reading low and fluctuating a bit. I removed the gauge panel and checked the 5 volt regulator not so good. Picked up a new adjustable electronic regulator from Jcar. cut the old reg from the panel and connected the new reg inline. I set 5.1 volts on the new reg before connecting it to the gauges, then connected my resistance wheel on each gauge circuit with various resistances from 10-70 ohms. All the gauges aligned perfectly with the gauge face markers. Gauges are now reading perfectly are quicker to react with nice and steady needles. The new regulator only cost me $7.95c bloody bargan.
