Fixing pitted die cast is a losing battle. You can repair it but it always comes back to haunt you.
To repair it you (or they, the platers) have to die grind out every pit (and get them spotless) then plate with copper, sand/linish and plate repetitively until filled and then nickel and chrome.
All extremely time consuming and costly and in the end the pits will reappear down the track.
