Hi Waddell, going to keep mine as they are going to be chromed so I can get rid of that awful chrome strip I have on there.

Apologies also for hijacking/derailing your thread from you.

Thanks Absinth and all for the info. See, told you I might learn something.

Hi Guys, hoping someone can shed some light on my question:

Do the Charcoal Cannister's all have the same part number as I have seen different types ?
If not, I am chasing the correct Charcoal Cannister part number for my 5/78 HZ Sandy ?

    I have a 6/78 V8 sedan & the canister has 3 hoses, nothing else. If you'd like I can check for a p/number tonite

    cheers

Hi Max, that would be great.
Can you also advise what the wording is on each of those 3 hose outlets on the Charcol canister ? Thank you

Part number on canister is 17056542. I am confident this is original as Ive had this car since mid 90s & got it off an old couple that had it for many years. Wording for hoses from left, carb, tank, purge. Not totally sure on where they go as Ive had a Holley on it, but went back to WW stromburg couple years ago. A workshop manual should show where the hoses go. Also had a look at a 6 cyl WB and same part number on its canister, but only has 2 hoses & a block off cap on the Carb outlet. My HZ 308 sandman I had in the 80s, had canister with 3 outlets, but only 2 hoses also

    cheers

Does the 2200kg GVW mean that it could be XU3. Is 2000kg for XX7? Gets confusing at times trying to decipher info.

OK thanks for that. A mate of my brother in law has a ute that seems to hit all the sandman criteria and has a 2200 GVW. It is a 3/79. Palais white I think. I told him to check it with HHS.
