    I'd always be concerned about rust reforming on the inside of the welds holding on the new repair sections. Definitely prevention is better than cure

    Yeah, I think those are wise words Sandaro. Hopefully the restorers will get the job right. New welds and potential for rust, the vehicles were zinc dipped at factory I thought. Hard to replicate.

    I agree that it's a great reference pic! What a huge restoration.

    What I really like about that pic is that it shows the shapes behind the access panels to the lower sills inside the van area. It is possible to get a camera and torch on a mirror in there (and a soapy sponge - ah yeh yuuuck) but do-able, (wear gloves if car has been sitting- redbacks etc), but so cool to actually see how that mudguard sits.
