Yes this appears to be a V8 manual pedal. The other part of the question Im not sure of, as over the years, I have done a lot of motor and/or gearbox conversions, and never had any trouble getting the clutch to work, or came across anything other than one V8 and one 6cyl pedal for the cable system. Either I was very lucky, or a V8 cable pedal is close enough to work with both push and pull systems. (please don't quote me on that)

I just stuck my head under the dash of my HZ V8 sedan with factory full cable, and then a HX V8 I Tonner with Half cable/ rat trap clutch, and the pedals definitely look the same.

But just another thought surfaced through the fog of time, I remember seeing some cars at the time (80s/90s) that had been played with/altered & the clutch pedal was sitting noticeably higher than the brake pedal. Maybe someone else will remember that too and have a comment.

    cheers
    Max

Thanks Max I'm running with this original pedal and have picked up a bellhousing with the cable bracket moulded on the side, it comes with the fork but not the plastic bit, someone did tell me the other day they got a metal one made because they had trouble with the plastic one melting!

Mate you can buy most of this stuff from Kingswood country. I went to full cable on my HZ and it was the best thing I ever did for drivability. The half rat trap/cable felt like it was going to rip out of the firewall and give me a giant left leg. Now its effortless. Id fully recommend going full cable with the proper bellhousing etc while you have the chance.

I think you need a V8 clutch pedal as the fork is slightly higher than the 6 cylinder one as it need a longer throw to activate the clutch mechanism.

I bought the Kingswood country one and it works perfectly. They also do a hydraulic conversion too but I haven't tried that.

Thanks guys, going the full cable, got a new bellhousing coming, had the right pedal in the van, I still wonder why someone years ago would bugger around putting Ford single rail in, the stuffing around to change everything would do my head in! Lol

There were three pedals as this link shows.

This was a common conversion, as the Aussie boxes didn't handle much stick. They were originally designed for the 6 cylinder. The Ford B/W single rail box was cheap and a bit stronger, their main downfall was the bush and thread holding the shifter in.
