    You can see why "if" you had the original body tag you would swap it over when your new body arrived.
    Missing all the other details and confusing to authorities.

    The chassis in question could be a NASCO replacement. What with the number on the passenger side and the number starting NREP.
    This would leave room back on the drivers side for the original chassis number to be re-stamped and the opposite proving a replacement.
    All possible. Still hurts it's resale value as a Sandman though unless you have all the paper work as proof and even then...
