Go the Monaro instead. I know a nice black one (2nd owner) with red leather CV8 vII.
Should be 4 sale soon.

GTS would be worth having, but only the early examples with the 300kW Callaway engine. My mate has a 4 door version, it is a weapon. At least they retained a GTS badge, like a HZ GTS. Still they are ugly compared to a Monaro. I looked at them all lined up at the Monaro Nationals and the CV8's especially the V2 varieties without the XB Falcon ugly bonnet scoops (VZ) look heaps nicer in the flesh than any HSV. The only HSV that looks any good in my opinion is the V2 Coupe4.
What is there not to like! I love them. The GTS name is a big seller for me.

V2 GTS nose and side looks good, but the rear treeatment especially the boot spoiler just doesn't look right. Sort of reminds me of a UC with A9X kit tacked on. Engine more than makes up for it though! They look great in yellow too. And they look heaps better than a lot of the 4 door plastic pig HSV's especially the nose of the VY stuff. When I was looking at buying a V2 Monaro I knocked back a really low kM because it had a factory rear wing! I just don't like bolt on crap! Just me though. My mate got the engine rebuilt in his 4 door HSV GTS, I think it cost abot $11,000. On the dyno when being run in it was cranking out about 335kW at conservative revs. All they did was rebuild it to basically standard specs with better quality pistons, a better cam and cleaned the ports up.
all goodi know they r not jsut a commodore with 2 doors, other than the abomination u mentioned. and they r veyr nice cars in their own right, and were a bit different to drive than my old manual VT wagon was. i think they should have styled them a bit different so they dont look so much like a commo. as like u say, they r not commodores. they just suffer the common label as a 2 door commo as they look very much like a commodore. the export pontiac version sort of solves that tho
r they making a monaro in the VE shape?
im veyr bad at explaining thigns LOL!! the VE ute and canopy shown is nice in itself, but those stickers dont look right at all on it.
1973 HQ with HZ front. Currently waiting for its resto.
308 for sale too
No Monaro in VE, GMH did a styling exercise called the Coupe60 but it'll probably never see the light of day. Especially since the new Camaro is basically a VE with a different body on top, so I'd say if we get anything it'll be a Camaro. Will have to wait and see what happens. remember that the case to justify to build the Monaro was based upon US sales as a Pontiac. That opportunity is lost with the Camaro being around.
You are right the V2 look like a 2 door commodore. But put a HK-HX coupe beside a 4 door example of the same series expecially HK-HQ Monaro next to a HK-HQ Kingswood and a HQ-HJ LS next to a HQ-HJ Premier. See the point? Those that make those statements don't understand what a Monaro was. The V2 even got it's own series designation (ie V2), something else HK-HX coupes didn't get!
why not a VE SV08 Senator 6.2 ltr 6 speed. rare as only 20 made. sensational interiors

Looksed at the VE senators. The wife and I do like them. But I do not see them holding their value for long. A GTS Coupe. Now I see them being worth good money still in 5 years time. 20 years time if we still had it parked in the shed well I would think the same....
I was told there was no manual VE Senator by a holden dealer. But then again they wanted me to buy one of the cars they had in stock =)

Never believe the dealer..
the SV08 was offered with a 6peed manual.
this was a joint senator and 40 year GTS special. 20 only senators i think 20 only GTS with striping
The Senator had silver metalic paint, blacked out lower sills, chrome mirrors, special leather seating, parking assist, and 6 speed manual only, small boot spoiler.
Just really nice car.. oh and a 6.2 yeah ha engine..1 for each gear
