Yeah but they are not selling at that price
I have had 2 people serious buyers come look at mine. It's a lot of money and not many have that sort of cash lying around for what will be a seldom driven luxury. I'm am confident I will sell mine this year. ha ha. 12 months to go.

Good luck with the sale mate, I hope you get it. I think if the economy picks up and wages grow this year we may have some movement.
I have noticed just the prices on sedans and utes, not image cars but Kingswoods and Belmonts seem to be going up by the minute.
Here is hoping mate.

Maybe some are, maybe some aren't. I know of a couple here that have gone close to that.
It's amazing me what people are paying for rusty pieces of crap..... A few years ago a HQ - HZ ute was $500.00. Now they are 3, 4 or even 5 grand for rough ones that don't run and need total restoration.
This may be a reaction to the high prices of fully restored cars, people thinking they are worth a certain percentage of said restored ones, or the realization that they will never be able to afford a restored one.
This particular van is a bargain at 80 grand considering the work that has gone into it.... BUT.... you need to find someone with the money. I believe you will.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
That's what the consensus is between my friends and I.
There are people out there who are dreamers and want to get rich off their one rusty old heirloom, have never owned anything of value and probably never will, and who are the exact same people that when a vehicle that is extremely marginal at best appears for sale on a site with a dreamers price, jump on there and begin to proclaim how cheap it is. Can't even count how many times this has happened.
Any one paying 5K for a rusty clapped out old Holden has got rocks in the heads
some people think it cheaper to buy an old jigger and spend countless hours and money rather
to buy something already finished WRONG
Wise old man told me once cheaper to buy a race car than to build one
Unfortunately I'm one who can not afford to pay the 70 to 80 grand for a restored car ...
But having said that I love researching car's looking and finding
There are obviously plenty of people who would love to buy a restored one even if they don't have the money. So far over 5000 people have looked at my ad. That's a lot of dreamers. Not that that is a bad thing. But it shows that there is plenty of interest but not a lot of people with the money. There is no way to restore one of these for under 80K. The price of parts alone would set you back more than this. $600 for the last yellow needle GTS clock I saw go on EBay. Good luck on an original steering wheel with grain left on it. Unless you are going to do the panels and paint yourself it would cost heaps more to do one yourself than buy one already done. But then there is the emotional attachment to one you have brought back from the grave. That can not be underestimated.
Hzsandman, there will be a buyer out there, you just have to weed through the tyre kickers, I know damn well I wouldn't take under $80g for any of my sandmans, I just recently sold my Hq gts for $40000 and the amount of people I had say" you'll never get that" well I have had great pleasure in waving $40g cash under there noses saying Thank Christ I didn't listen to you! I ended up with 4 serious buyers competing for the car, I found advertising on unique cars I received more genuine buyers rather than the keyboard wannabes on gumtree and Facebook, I have my Hx Le advertised at the moment, there will be a genuine buyer for that eventually, all the best cheers
