I have had 2 people serious buyers come look at mine. It's a lot of money and not many have that sort of cash lying around for what will be a seldom driven luxury. I'm am confident I will sell mine this year. ha ha. 12 months to go.

Good luck with the sale mate, I hope you get it. I think if the economy picks up and wages grow this year we may have some movement.

I have noticed just the prices on sedans and utes, not image cars but Kingswoods and Belmonts seem to be going up by the minute.

    Here is hoping mate.

Maybe some are, maybe some aren't. I know of a couple here that have gone close to that.

$80K is a decent investment so wanting to come and have a look and make sure it is "exactly" what you want is reasonable I think.

I sold 2 other genuine Sandmans in the last 6 years for what was really good money back then, one in particular was a fantastic car (side bar - who knew they would sky rocket) and I always found that the people who came to see you were 9 times out of 10 genuine and no test pilots.

The texters and phone callers on withheld numbers with diagnoses of various stages of cancer not so genuine.

    Just my experience.

In my experience there is only one genuine buyer ...
And that's the one that comes all cashed up ..no ...oh I just got to talk to the misses ...oh but I've come up 20 short I've got to see if I can get it from my cashed up perants. ..
In my opinion if they want the car know the price get the funds organised other wise go waste someone else's time.

Guys I sold my first restored hz sandman van in 2011 Windsor blue metallic 253 4 speed matching numbers nice van for forty grand. I got the itch to build another in 2014 tracked down another in need of a resto Panama green same running gear matching numbers driveline had it for three years but had a couple of collectors hassle me to sell at the time I wasn’t interested but they came back with an 80 grand offer I couldn’t refuse. You just have to wait for the right person to pop up it’ll happen just have to be patient

Interesting. So I am assuming, I could be wrong, what you are saying is that if people don't just fork over $80K at the first visit in 10 minutes they are time wasters? They can't have a couple of looks?

I sold cars for a living and I have sold my own muscle cars and that's the dance, people come look, I qualify them, are they pretenders that have never owned a decent car, are they know all dreamers that know every nut and bolt that make up a car but will never actually own one, are they just enthusiasts that want to have a look as they have been building one for 10 years and or are they people that have serious money and the reason they have it is because they choose carefully.

    Cheers

It's amazing me what people are paying for rusty pieces of crap..... A few years ago a HQ - HZ ute was $500.00. Now they are 3, 4 or even 5 grand for rough ones that don't run and need total restoration.

This may be a reaction to the high prices of fully restored cars, people thinking they are worth a certain percentage of said restored ones, or the realization that they will never be able to afford a restored one.

This particular van is a bargain at 80 grand considering the work that has gone into it.... BUT.... you need to find someone with the money. I believe you will.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
