    The TH700 conversion is only worthwhile if you have a tall diff ratio (3.08 or taller) & an engine which has plenty of torque below 2,000 RPM.

    It's no good with a low diff or a cammy engine which makes all it's torque above 3,000 RPM.

    I've got one in my HZ One-Tonner behind a stock VN 5.0 V8 & it's waaaay better than the old 308 & TH400 set-up.

    What shifter do you have in your One-Tonner?

    I have everything to put one in my HZ but was only going to use the old shifter and not be able to select first.

    I've kept the column shift. I had to 'tweek" the lever length slightly so it gets all gear positions.

    The only reason I kept the column shift was to keep the 3-seat bench.

    2 seat cars are almost useless for everyday use.

    I've got a 4l60e in my Panel Van project and a 700r4 in my daily driver 1 Tonner. The diff ratio is 3.55:1 in my Tonner and the 700r4 gearing works absolutely perfect with it.

    I recently did a shift lever adjustment on the Panel Van to be able to select all gears in the 4l60e with the original Holden shifter. The trick was to drill a new hole for the transmission shift lever pivot point...18mm lower than the the original position. This allowed me to shift between P, R, N, D, 3, 2, 1 in the same shifter radius.
