    Smile What would you pay?

    Howdy folks

obviously this car touches all the nostalgia nerve endings for me being a HJ Deauville Blue factory Sandman. It has gone from $42k to $40 to now $35k

Mine was a factory 253 auto, a/c p/s gts dash, guards wheel etc with full black interior and blue bubble windows (double tailgate one) Bought 83/4 ish sold 88

Unlikely i'll pursue it as I still live 300m from the ocean in high humidity central Qld,ie rust city!! but curious what knowledgeable, non nostalgic fans reckon this actual car as you see it is worth and approx (I know lol) how much $$ would take to make it a nice streeter with most work (panel paint, mechanical) farmed out.

And if you're still up for hypotheticals......how did it get that dent on the Drivers side rear....most original gets a time machine and a 12 month subscription to CV&T like they used to do

    Buy it!
We lived less than 200 meters for over ten years.
Fish oil every 2 years and never had a problem.
Ours was a Deauville blue HX.

    Cheers Kiwi

In this climate lucky to get 10K and it will only be worth less the longer he keeps it imho
it takes a dedicated person to do a full resto a a panel van
oh having a bit of $$$$ helps to

Very nice combo mechanically and colour. It does look like a full resto 'rust in usual places' too. Big bucks to do. But if it all checks out as original numbers would be the one go spend the dollars on . I'd still think asking price on high side, but I really don't know

As for the dent I'd guess a crazy ex missus swung a baseball bat at it

How do you make a coffee ?
    I love them ...
It's all on the buyer how much they are willing to pay ..
The significance of some things to some one can just blow the price apart for the "commoner ".me.

$10k would be more than double what I sold it for <10years ago. It’s had two doors replaced since.
It is a great combo, I was always concerned about how to get the dent out of the back..
Big job all round, thinks it’s worth maybe $15k if you’re prepared to do a full resto, not one you’d tidy up and drive.

I wonder how many others are just getting traded around and never getting anything done to them?
Looks like quite a few are just not worth restoring unless you can do it all yourself and have endless spare time.
