Just a bit of paint removal today and stripped out the dash. Man how good are those orange strip disk's. Finish etched with a bit of KBS.

Not much to report on lately but took the front panels out of the storage locker and loosely fitted to get a look and a photo.

I also have found the wheels I want to fit so took off the rims to get some measurements and sizes etc. They are now making a copy of the old U.S. Indy's
U.S. Indy 15 x 9 rears and 15 x 8 fronts. will go zero offset on the rear and -12 offset on the front. Would love 9s all round but they wont clear the steering tie rod.

Bit of an update, yesterday I bonded in the window panels with the Fusor 108B panel adhesive and today I removed all the screws, sanded back all the excess epoxy, then applied the Evercoat Fiber Tech filler.
Holy Heck isnt sanding that fiber reinforced filler a chore and a half. Spent about 3 hours today with 60 grit in a long block and still not finished.

Great job. Did you have to put any "roll" or "curve" in the replacement panel or is it filler that makes the shape?
no not really because when I rolled the bead it pulled a slight curve in to the short side if the panel. I know of a 1 owner untouched windowless Sandman and I checked the panel curves on that with straight edge. There really isnt much curve front to rear only at each end of the panel and the normal curve top to bottom. The infill panel tends to follow the curve of the original steel that was left (another reason I left the centre section) And is also helped with the internal braces.Originally Posted by Sandaro
I have been sanding the fiber filler (prick of a job) for the last two days using a long block and 36 grit paper and I recon when it is straight it will end up with about 2mm of filler in a few spots through the length of the panel. I would rather take the time to get it right with the fiber tech then etch prime with Epotec and high fill then long block again.
Just to be sure I think when I do the other side a few runs front to rear with the english wheel wouldnt hurt.
