Geez, $70,000 and it’s missing the little chrome bar off the front indicator and has a burnt out brake warning light lense on the dash... at that price or higher I’d expect it to be a true representation of a HJ Sandman. Wheel nuts wrong, chrome scuff plates and tail light surrounds wrong, door trims wrong, console wrong, brake pedal pad wrong, dashpad wrong, instrument fascia wrong, vynacoat finish wrong and on and on it goes.
I don’t understand why people spend so much doing a beautiful restoration only to do it incorrectly, doesn’t cost any more to do it correctly.

I guess they get bad advice. It’s hard to get any advice now really unless you happen to know the few people who actually know.
Makes you realise how few are left in complete condition judging by the amount of incorrect restorations.
Yes, the amount of HQ and HJ Sandman van restorations I see with Kingswood or GTS door trims and every HQ I’ve seen has carpet on the floor. Quite a few like the one above have WB kick panels, I guess plastic lasts longer than the old pressed fibre board.
