This is likely why the same mistakes happen over and over.

Very nice Sandman's though, although not to concours standard. I've said it before 20K would fix that.
Yes it has a few things wrong but i dont think its 20K to fix
reckon i could do it for less than 10K
And full hoodling looks a lot better than the short one

How many builds are actually correct anyway? I know that Stickthis will have his as accurate as possible right down to correct overspray on the engine/gearbox.

However due to plant differences and the human factor, no two even off the same line are exactly the same anyway. That’s why the true survivors are really the good ones. Sadly quite a few of them have had rebuilds and resprays taking away important historical value too.

It’s the same as any popular car, these will be advertised as “older restoration” cars in the future.

I'm talking Concours here. Remembering I'm not the one who stated it was a Concours restoration.

10K maybe, but I very much doubt it. You need nearly a full interior retrim as the colour is wrong and that's aside from the door trims.
Floor carpet is wrong, wheel arch moulds are wrong, holes would have to be welded and resprayed. Windscreen is wrong. Glass dating is likely wrong on all the other glass.
There are so many other things to be checked as far as date coding etc. I'm not picking on the car, it very nice. I just saying to get to Concours you'd have a lot of cash to spend.

Of the 20K spend, most wouldn't even know the difference or what to look for.

As for the full roof lining looking better, I agree. But it's incorrect for HQ. Just like vynacoat grey is correct for the seat backs. So many things look better than standard - that's why people modify cars.
But modified cars are not Concours.

I see what you mean 20k to go those lengths for concours. Open chequebook basically.

But I've never been 'that' fussy. In that regard I agree WBute, and say never should a Holden ever be considered concours or should that be reserved for the toffs
