This is the 45 year old paint inside the cab, above the windscreen, been protected by the roof lining. It still looks very lively

I had a taiwsense tailgate I got cheap, so I had it sprayed, mixed by the paint code, & it looks quite dull. I was never going to fit this, only hang in the shed!

Would really like to see how good the colour can look, to help me decide
Max, you realise there is a MKI and MkII version of Glitter Poo?

I've recently seen 2 different GTS sedans (not sure if Mark 1 or 2) one a HJ and the other a. HX, driving around and they both looked good with the GTS blackouts etc. I wouldn't pick that colour if I had the choice, but doesn't make me vomit, plus originality is a big thing as you know

Im sure HJ had Mk1, &
    HX,HZ was MK11.
My van is HX with paint code 567-30183, that is what we used to mix the paint on the tailgate, but I was thinking the translation to 2pac mightn't been accurate.

I actually don't mind toranas in persian sand, there's a hatch around here, & I've also seen a SLR that's in the Hunter valley torana club (newcastle area) at a few shows, & I think the smaller body size, along with the blackouts suits the colour better.

That's probably why the body size of the van may just be too much colour. Thinking maybe a van with side windows might break the colour.

I think Mk11 is the more metallic

Anyone know is there any where to view the old colour chip charts, like was on here years ago or like Mr Jones shed used to?

I'm sure Persian Sand Mk1 was reddish brown, seen on a lot of Statesmans, but I have a HJ sedan in Mk1 & it's just dull brown. Could be old age, &/or bad resprays.

I bought a new HQ in Persian Sand (Mk1) and loved the colour. When I ordered my HZ Sandman I chose Persian Sand Mk2, it had more metallic in it and it was a bit brighter. I am back restoring the Sandman after a 8 or 9 year break so all goes well will be back on the road sometime next year, (I hope).

    G'day HZSanFan.
By some coincidence, I was looking at the photos in your profile last night.

Would be good to see your van once it's painted, if you can keep us updated on the resto
    Cheers

There was a really nice show van called "Centrefold" that was Glitter Poo MKII and it looked great.
Quite a few show vans were around in this colour back in the day. Remember Brown and Orange were very popular in the '70's.
I'm not in love with the colour but that's the colour it's meant to be and it's not hideous. I would run with it for sure.

Yes, I agree, if I ever do a restoration on this van, it should be in the original colour.
My problem, is the paint code/colour matching.

If there was 50 Persian Sand mk11 vehicles lined up, I reckon there would be 49 different versions of the original colour, & I would prefer mine to look period correct
