Plenty of sedans, wagons etc in the wreckers back in the mid to late 80's..... not too hard to find one in the same colour as your ute to replace rusty or dented doors....:Chin:

Saddle Tan Matallic? hmmm not very common thats for sure! There was signs of the orginal blackouts etc also.....

Where they an option at all maybe?

I seen this descussion a few times now about these doors. But to be honest im about 95% sure they would be the originals. Many signs that of it.

I'd be very surprised if GMH had fitted intrusion bar doors to a commercial. Nothing was wasted or given away for free. I reckon they've been changed very early in the piece.

Maybe not very common today but there were plenty around back in the 70's and 80's. I used to visit the local wreckers regularly back in the 80's and there were rows and rows of HQ to WB in all variants and colours. i am talking 100's of cars and they are all now re-cycled Hyundai's etc.... This was just in Brisbane... let alone wreckers in the other larger major cities.

Just because they aren't a common colour today doesn't mean they were uncommon back in the day. Unfortunately they were all crushed in the late 90's when the price of scrap metal skyrocketed.....

hmm yes good point Sean. Interesting tho. Guards etc are 100% all orginal. Had the little rivets etc for the front spoiler. Nose had cutouts for the spoiler but there had not been a spoiler on it for many many years. I know the last owner. The one before that was the first owner who owned it for about 5 years. I have been trying to get hold of him but the address on the owners papers was a caravan park. So sounds like he lived in a caravan and owned a sandman haha. The current owners of the park do not and havent ever heard of him. bugger.....
