    Cutting windows into sides

Now the bodywork is complete, does anyone have any spare side windows that they would like to sell. i would like to put windows in the back of my van.

Oz you might be able to answer this question for me, were the windows different from factory to factory? i have seen a few different sizes.

Let me know if anyone has done this before and if there are any tricks to getting it right?

    Cheers

    They come up regularly.

mook, ive got an hz van here with all 4 side windows in it....im thinkin there is a wb as well...they will have the rubbers with them..
hz van with windows..maybe these are the oversize ones..?

im thinkin these are the factory size ones..

anyway there is a few different sizes ..you figure out what you want and i probably have it as i have always kept the side glass from vans..if you need some just yell...but personally i wouldnt cut a van to put windows in..

I'm with Raz on this one DON"T DO IT!!!!! each to their own though does help with blind spots.. doesn't seem to help with sellability (is that a word???) of a vehicle though

I don't even think they help that much with blind spots. Anything that's big enough to see through those windows is easily visible with a decent well adjusted side mirror.

im with the rest, please dont cut the windows in ur nice none windowed one. the roof starts to sag with the supports removed and slowly push the windows out, they als dont really help with visability.

Gotta agree with the Bad Karma M8!!

As I said Im prob gonna pay some one credible to weld solid panels into mine!!

Any way!! If you do want to go through with it, you can cut any size opening you want really!

The glass is flat therefore you only need to make a template of the opening and take it and a sample of the rubber to a reputable Glass Merchant, Like Myself, and with all the right info we can order the Glass for you in clear or tinted Toughened Safety Glass!!

The Important thing to know is that most auto rubbers take 6mm thick glass, so this is the thickness you will most probably need to order. You also need to make sure that you ask for an AUTO GLASS Stamp on each piece. There are two stamp options! One is for window use, the other for Motor Vehicle Glass. Even though the process for toughening the glass is the same, the Stamp is crucial when it comes time for your Rego!! You can also state where you want the stamp on each window so they are all facing the same way!!

I suggest going this way as you will have New Glass in your van! Im sure it would be near Impossible to find original windows without Scratches on them!!

    Hope this helps!!
