    Hi Paddy
We bought these for parts, of which we didn't use anything off the tonner, it has a 4spd v8 which is not original, and a kidney mag for a spare. We bought the HZ for the dash etc. and a couple of other parts, there is a 3rd waiting till the next load which is a HJ we were given and we stripped. These are now destined for Classic Ozwreckers in Toronto, as they are pretty rust free, and straight they will be good for either a resto for someone or parts.....I did originally think of doing up the HZ and will probs kick ourselves later, but we have enough restoring going on at the moment, and they will just sit for years, they may as well go to good homes...plus there are orig manuals in the HZ complete with purchase id....:surprised:

The HZ ute looks to be a Kingswood from a distance, so if not rusty is a definite resell prospect. It would be good to see someone buy it and tidy it up, you don't see HZ Kingswood utes in original condition anymore. I reckon one of these, left looking like that one does (with better paint maybe) running an injected 304 and 4L60 conencted up to the column shift would be a great car to own.

It is in good nic, and no rust whatsoever in the tailgate, if we had not started and finished Yellow van's tailgate it would be on ours, yes I hope someone restores it, we thought it was too good to rip apart, but we do have the dash out of it, although not 67v its 67c, but we liked it and it was perfect. Yes it is a Kingswood...it has a rare spares grill so may have had a front dingle...I think someone maybe interested in it as a whole ute once it arrives....

My mate and I used to buy HK-HG's in condition like that for bits. Even up to 2 years ago they were $500 a piece, available locally (in Newcastle). They are just gone now. I bought a running, driveable HK Kingswood seadn 2 years ago out of the paper for $500. It had side swiped passenger's doors, but apart from that it was straight & rust free. Is a 186, 3spd (synchro), front discs, Pinaroo Beige with beige trim in great order. Currently parked up at my mate's place in northern NSW where only the Fords rust! Parked next to it is almost the same car but in blue with a white roof and a crash box, but with slightly worse worn trim. Both are going to be used for nuts and bolt cars for Monaro restos. Glad we got them when we did as cars like these pull $2500k+ on Ebay nowadays.

Well I had better keep a lookout at Stuarttown this weekend, last time we drove through about 4 utes, were in falling down garages out the back of their owner's houses....they looked okay, there is also a HJ sandman we were looking at white, very faded decals, ugly roof rack (fixed to gutter), parked in the town...will do some CSI work on the way to Burrendong....

Sounds like the HJ Sandman I saw in Wellington the other day Jennie. It was real faded with the stripes still on the rear quarters and doors. Had a hx front and had a standard dash bench seat. It was filling up in the servo. Would like to have looked at the tags to see if was genuine and robbed of its dash and seats. Who knows. It was still a daily driver though.
