Palais White HZ XX7 Windowless Sandman Panelvan. :multi:

Well I have paid my deposit so I guess I can show off the Sandman Van I am buying.

I have been hunting for years for a Palais White HZ Sandman Van with Buckskin trim, windowless, derated GVW, 308 and Aussie 4 speed. Its been my "dream" combo for ever. Will be perfect sitting next to my Palais White HZ GTS when they both are done!!!

Just got to find a HZ Sandman Palais White Ute haha! hmm nearly had one too. bugger....

Tag info.
HZ8MW70
Body - 443051-A
Trim - 1930-63C (Buckskin Commodore Grain Vinyl.) DY2 Stripes
Paint - 568-30521 (Palais White)
Eng - L31 (308)
Trans - M21 (Aussie 4 Speed)
Diff - GV4 (3.36:1)
GVW - 2000kg (XX7)
Seat Cap - 2

Byron if you don't have the tag info let me know and I will send you the chassis number and engine number.

Full matching number van. Its nothing flash. But its all there and all rust is easily repairable.
Cant wait to go pick it up in late December as its interstate! I brought it sight unseen. Not the right thing to do I know. But aye this is the first Palais White one I have found and with all the combos of my "dream" sandman how could I resist!

I'll check later Jason. I gotta agree, Palais white on a HZ Sandman is nice and probably my favourite HZ colour along with Ultra Blue. White os one of the few colours that doesn't look bad with stripes too!

Jason

I do have it recorded but I have 2 x chassis numbers for it. Leroy and I both had it recorded and be both had different numbers. He had it ending in 545A and I had 454A.

Those damn vacationer roof racks. They appear to have been everywhere. The Windsor blue 1-owner van I know of has them too.

Jason nice score, that PSN is one you have added to your GTS site as a GTS knew I had seen it somewhere b4. Could you send me the correct engine and chassis no. too.

Thanks

545A is Correct.

Yeh the racks are something I am not excited about. But atleast there is a hoodlining to cover this inside welds. So it can be done correctly without warping the crap out of the roof!

Cheers Jenny. Ah you pay what you have to, to find the van you want I guess. Like I said I brought it sight unseen. I do wonder how much bog there is. But at the same time done really care haha. The bloke who owned it/half still does was planning to do it up for his son. His son is on P plates and the V8 law has stopped them from doing it as he would not be able to drive it....... I had him on my list for wanting a set of DY2 stripes. So when they where done I gave him a buzz and he told me he might sell it. The rest of the phone call was a dream.

I can see why they painted it super mint tho, quite possibly the best colour ever, with mint julep and windsor blue sharing second place. (hehe, it's all personal taste isn't it)
haha was waiting for a comment like that =). Knew it would be either you or Adam. lol.

You've probably seen this photo a million times before but it's perfectly suited to this thread. I had it as a desktop background for quite a while.

Gives you something to strive for. The guy that owned it was on Fastlane but I think he sold it? Not sure if he's on here.
Love that van. Would be nicer with DY2 stripes tho. But yes its a pic I have had as a desktop background many many times lol.

if your referring to that 63000 km HZ ute in the vic museum, i think its Opalene Blue, Ultra blue is much darker..
Jokes about colours aside, well done Jason. happy 4 you..
Cheers Adam. Yes sorry Opalene Blue whas what I did mean. I think its more the fact thats its so orginal that I want it lol.

The only trouble is that it is so hard to order the colour you really want 31 plus years after they stopped making them.

But...... I have a chamois hx kingswood ute that I am going to pull apart but the colour is starting to grow on me :Chin:

Having something different is half the fun. My HZ Sandy ute is Saddle Tan metallic. Now thats not a pretty colour. But if I had it all again I would have painted it the original colour and never thrown out the original engine..... 30k later it would be crazy to strip it all back now lol. Plus it was my first car. and 15 years on I still have it.

Its now 100% mine!

Well picked it up today! I'm stoked. heaps better than I was told. All rust is hardly there.

Paid $6500. Not too bad I say!!

Had to drag it up and over and down the blue mountains in NSW! Was a long haul. My but hole was sucked to the leather seats a few times!!!
